BG transmission service.. any input?

Local dealer wants 130.00 for basic flush. The local big service shop said they would highly recommend their BG service for 230.00. Anyone have any advice??

Forget the chemical flush, just get the fluid fully exchanged, whether it's with a BG or some other machine.

Just d/c the trans cooler line at the radiator, connect a rubber hose to it and run into a 5 gallon bucket, change the filter if you haven't done that already, ensure the pan is full of fluid, have someone start the ngine and when 3-4 quarts come out, shut the engine off and pour in mor trans fluid- repeat until you have added 18 qts- a complete change has occurred.

When I got my Dodge Magnum Hemi transmission fluid changed at the dealer, they changed it with BG fluid. Part of the package was adding a cleaner before draining and adding a conditioner with the new fluid. I declined the cleaner and conditioner and it cost less.
I put some conditioner in my 82 Trans Am power steering years ago to stop a pump seal leak. It stopped almost immediately. A year later everything rubber in the system was deteriorated and I had to replace the pump, both hoses and the steering box, the entire system. After that experience, I won't put conditioner in anything I own no matter what it is.

The chemical cleaner can be hard on the clutch packs. BG ATF is excellent, but PASS on the flush fluid and conditioner.
