6 speed automatic vs. 4 speed automatic

I am wondering how a 6 speed automatic would compare to my 4R75? Would I notice increased fuel economy?

If you are thinking of replacing a 4 speed with a 6 speed, can that be done? Will someone have to write a program for it, using the older engine etc and imploying the 6 speed?

I do know now that the trannie has it's own computer now with the 6 speed, so that would have to be brought in too.

Mark Kovalsky said in another thread that the swap is almost impossible due to the electronics issues. If you are thinking about buying a new truck, by all means get the 6 speed.
