Lucas ATF?

Is the Lucas Oil semi synthetic atf #10052 Mercon V rated? I know their multi-vehicle atf is but can't seem to find whether the semi synthetic atf is or not. I sent Lucas an e-mail about it but haven't heard back yet so I thought I'd try here. Wanting to put it in a 4R75E if that helps anything. Thanks for any info.

If you want semi-synthetic, why don't you just use stock Motorcraft?

According to the spec sheet, it does not meet Mercon V specs - just Dexron III and Mercon.

In my '97 Explorer, with the 4R70 transmission, the manual calls for Mercon. I've used Lucas Semi-Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid with good results. 225,000 miles on the original 5.0L 302 engine & 4R70. Just regular and frequent fluid changes. There is very little difference between the 4R70 & 4R75E. Of course, Ford also has a TSB which re-specs the 4R70 to use Mercon V. A lot of people believe in Lucas additives like they're in "The Lucas Cult". The same could be said for a few other boutique oils. I've used several brands, and I've had good results with all. However, I can't say that I noticed anything different between the boutiques and Motorcraft. When it's time for a fluid exchange, I typically shop for the lowest priced. On Amazon.com, you can buy a 6 bottle case of Lucas for $33. That's significantly cheaper than Red Line, Royal Purple, Mobil, and Amsoil.

Unless it's Mercon V rated, I would not put it in a 4R75E.

This thread is almost a year old, by the way.

I love reading the classics.

The new Lucas stuff is suppose to be Mercon V compatible.
