Looking for Trans Insight

Hello all. I was actually posted this in two sections hopefully for better results. I have a 1991 F150 5.0/E4od SC/LB truck that I was hoping to get some insight on. I believe that the E4od has moved under its own power for the last time here recently. I actually have a few questions I was hoping to get answered. First, this truck will be used for towing, 4x4ing, and very rarely driving to/from work (mostly just to wrench on the truck). I have searched not only here but the vast world of Google and have somewhat found the answer im looking for.

I am thinking of ditching the e4od for a C6. NOW PLEASE dont blast this thread with "the E4od is made of kyrptonite and cant be beat and your dumb for thinking it" comments. I have access to very well built C6s and I almost prefer them being that I know they can be beat on and take it. So now to my questions. I know that the c6 will bolt up and work to both the motor and transfer case. I know I will need longer driveshaft from a c6/4x4 equipped single cab/long bed (i think 133" WB) truck. Short of the driveshaft, modifing the 4X4 linkage and switch (tricking) the E4ods computer to "N" position for it to not bother anything, what else do I have to do? Do I have to change/modify anything else? I know most likely the rear trans mount but thats not hard either. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading.
