I replied to your email, call me it is best. This forum is touchy at times.

Did you actually feel the fluid? was it really slick? Also when you feel it you can check for any metal flakes in the fluid on your fingers.

What about the smell? did it smell burnt?

I was going by symptoms, trying to pull from memory what trans it was from when he got the converter. I remembered correctly, which at times can be surprising. I have a strange memory, terrible with names, forget my anniversary, clueless as when my wifes b-day is, but I can tell you the motorcraft part number on oil filter on just about anything and I call sonnax to order most common parts without opening the book.....They say memory is first to go but I don't recall what they told me was next.
For real however on the transmission the reverse shudder is a common symptom of an overheated e4od or 4r100. If you keep on the reverse trying to make it work the trans will get really hot and blow the front seal out.

I don't really know for sure what's wrong, but if I decided to fix it, alan will be doing it, unless the shop that built it will fix it for no charge.

I'm confused.
You said it was a Dirty-dog transmission.
Is Dirty-dog and Alan 2 different places?

Ok so the tranny shop took my side, and is going to make it right for me, at little to no charge they said. And once its back together, the truck is up for sale, open to offers, no joke, its going away. as is, everything on it.

im really not sure, probably not a "toy", somthing nice, reliable, and somewhat quick, and it will probably just get cosmetic modifications... then down the road ill build a toy.
