bad tranny
I make pretty good money (or did until my recent 20% pay cut
), but I live in California and support a lot of people so I've got to watch every dollar. I do all my own car repairs (in over 30 years of owning cars I've never taken one to a shop for repair) so when I buy a vehicle I'm looking at cost, reliability, ease of repair etc, while still getting a vehicle that meets my wants/needs. The 4.2 meets these requirements in a F150.
I certainly agree that the 5.4 trucks are more fun and more capable. If money were no object I would drive the maxed-out truck, but at this point in my life, I would rather drive a V6 F150 than no F150 at all.
