Finding out what kind????

How can i find out what trans is in the truck i'm looking at. 94,5.0,auto-trans ??? I have the vin # and its the push button type like in my 92 f150.

Does it have a door sticker? Get the trans code off it. The VIN won't ID it. E4OD would be code "E", 4R70W would be code "U".

That is not what that "E" in the VIN signifies.
