Whiplash downshift
I searched lots of different ways before posting this but didn't have a lot of luck. My 04 FX4 has a downshift issue. Between 45-60, if you go WOT, the truck hesitates, winds up the motor, and friggin slams into 1 or 2. If this were a dragster, I would think a good chunk of the trans or final drive would be laying on the road. I know of a TSB for the 07-08, but not earlier years.
Yes, I do run a programmer(Edge), but the trans does this at stock and at any level program. I try to avoid this situation as much as possible, but sometimes on a merge or whatever, I need WOT. There's a new rear end in the truck, but it did the same thing before as now.I've talked to Ford, who said there isn't a TSB reflash on this truck. I'd appreciate some input. Thanks.
