Unhappy rattle noise in park 98 f150 4x4

whenever my vehicle is in park there is a fairly loud rattle noise that seems to come from the tranny. Ive crawled underneath the vehicle while running and its not the heat shields or anything loose. The noise goes completely away once placed into gear. The only time I notice it after that is when Im in an area which the vehicle echos noise back, i.e near a building and the noise is the same but more faint. The vehicle still perfoms great. please help.

Angry found out the problem

torque converter. When the blade is bent over into the turbine housing, they can get loose over time. This causes the noise as well as metal shavings in the tranny. Most reman converters have these bends braised to prevent them from comming loose. Anyway, $1100...
