Indicator assembly

Indicator assembly

Has anyone installed indicator assembly that could give me some pointers on doing this job? I have a 1999 f 150 5.4 automatic 4x4.With Shifter lever on the coluum.Thanks steve

I guess your PRNDL doesn't line up properly. The plastic adjustment holder under the column has broken. If you remove the plastic cover on the bottom of the column, you will see a small copper colored cable with a white plastic mount coming off your shifter. The mount is what is broken, and all that needs to be replaced. But, unless you go to a junkyard, you will have to buy the whole cable assy. If you decide to replace the whole thing, you will have to access the instrument cluster to replace the PRNDL part.

thanks bigbronc yes I bought the new assembly but I think I just save my self a lot of work and just swap the bracket and adjuster out.When I have more time I stop by a junk yard see if I can get the white plastic mount .Thanks
