Bad Clunk in 4x4
This just happened, i went down the driveway to meet with UPS... Yes the driveway is that bad about a mile uphill s-turn, very fun... anyways we just got a bunch of snow. I had to put it in 4wheel and everything was fine took off slowly then just hit the gas like normal and this load clunk that shook through the whole truck happened, then the 4 wheel drive wasnt working all that well the rest of the way up the driveway. i took it in and out a few times tried moving it without being a baby on the throttle and the same thing, did the same in reverse...
Did i just blow my 4 wheel drive?
I do have a EVO programmer on level 1 but that is it.
Any help or advice i would appreciate it
Thank

I just went back out and put in 4X4 and played around and it didnt do it at all and it was working fine!?!?! kinda weird i dont get it. hopefully it was just a fluke thing....
If its back working should be fine right? Maybe didnt engage fully when it made the noise and kicked itself out? make any sense?
THanks

Hi guys, it happened to my truck few times last year. I fixed it spent zero dollars .
Here is what I did:
On top of the front differential there is an actuator . It looks like a hockey puc.
I removed the cover for it, and I lubricated the shaft and the linkage on it with a little WD40 and motor oil.
Then, with the truck on neutral I engaged 4x4 High , then low , back to High few times.
I had a friend do the same while I greased it up underneath as it moved.
Put the cover back on. Issue resolved.
Let me know if that works for you also.
Good luck .
