My '99 w/ 4r70w trans shifted very late/hard into 2nd, caused by a broken 1-2 accumulator spring (cheap/easy repair). I don't know if your '05 has the same trans or if this is your problem, but it might be a place to start.

You should search "1-2 hard shift" and you'll find it a problem that comes up in our trannies. The 1-2 upper a lower accumulator springs are a really good place to start. You only need to drop the pan to access it.

I purchased the 1-2 accumulator springs today from the dealer and i'm going to give it a try. I wasn't for shure if the spring problem affected the 4r75 like it did the 4r70...I think their pretty much the same trans though?
