E40D Questions.

Alright, last year I changed my tranny fluid and filter and it's about time to do it again. I forget what the filter number is, does anyone have it? Also, how much tranny fluid does it hold? My owners manual says 15 or 16 quarts but I know that aint right because when I changed it I put 8 quarts it, started it up ran it through the gears and it said it was way over full. I drained a quart out and it's still a little too full.

So if anyone can get my a filter number and how many quarts it takes I'd appriciate it.

Thanks.

Why are you doing it again so soon?

The 15 or 16 quarts would include draining the torque converter, which should be done for a complete change. Your parts man can look up the filter number.

Dropping the pan only empties 5-7 quarts out of the 16 or so in the system.....

Do a pump and dump for a more complete exchange.
