The snow finally melted enough for me to get under the truck. I found the bleeder screw. Bled the clutch and now it work like a champ.

Does anyone have a general ballpark figure for cost to have the slave cylinder replaced in a 1996 F150? I'm not certain thats the probem yet but just trying to plan ahead...
I have a friend that was going to help me replace the slave cylinder if it was bad. He has a lift in his barn. He told me it would take about 3-5 hours to pull the tranny back and replace the cylinder. If you take it to a shop to have the work done I would guess that you are looking at $800.00 or so. This is just a guess as the part does not cost that much but the labor is expensive.

I am thankfull for the help I have received on this forum!

Update

Well I took the truck in and they diagnosed it as a badly leaking slave cylinder. They went ahead and replaced that, the throw bearing, and both U joints for $525 (a good price IMHO). It's working good as new now
