Larger tranny cooler??

Anybody with the trailer towing package ever installed a larger cooler, the one that comes with the truck seems allright just kinda small....

If you got any pictures or advice mounting one would sure be appreciated..

Its been on my to-do list for awhile now..

Thanks

I put one like this in my truck! It's about 4+ times bigger then the stock one. Works great.

I have the B&M cooler with an electric fan attached, and use a ScanGuage II.

A Mag-Hytec transmission pan helps too.

It wasn't bad at all,You have to remove the big grill and it bolts right behind it like it was made for the truck. We took the stock one out and just used the big one and my temps came down about 50*!
And yes,,I have a tranny gauge.

Thanks hemis are no problem,,,but it's a lot more fun killing the stangs..

Yea, I can understand, but I just hate Dodge's....That's all that is around here, hemi this hemi that....I had one Dodge and that was one to many, after I fixed her up and painted it, I did make some money on it but that ws it..

I would rather push a Chevy than drive a moreparts (mopar) Dodge of any kind!!

I have this trans cooler but I ordered it from Ford. It is designed from the f250 super duty one if I remember correctly. It also costs less from Ford. It works too well in the winter my temps have not been getting up above 100. In the summer towing my trailer the highest I saw was 185.

Aftermarket pans are available from Ford Racing Performance Parts, TCI, ACT Automatics, B&M Racing, Bowler Performance Transmissions, Mag-Hytec, & PML Inc. A quick "google" search will turn up all your options. Then it is up to you to weigh the pros & cons of each product. Just like with leveling kits, don't just pick one because it is the cheapest. They are not all the same. They are made from different metals, have different fill capacities, some come with the proper filter, some have magnetic drain plugs, et cetera.

Klitch,

That cooler looks exactly like the one that Troyer Performance sells.
