Average Fluid Tempratures

hey guys i just installed autometer tranny fluid and diff fluid temp gauges on my truck, my tranny temp gets just under 150 but that was a short cruise, and my diff temp doesnt move much unless im workin my limited slip off road then ive had it up to 150, so im just looking for a ball park temprature form those who have these gauges in their trucks to see if their reading right

I'd be interested too as I'm currently evaluating a pretty indepth auxillary tranny cooler set-up.

I'm interested in temp from the pan, in both towing and highway driving. 4R70W temps would be prefered, but any input is good!

You do know that temps also vary depending upon ambient conditions, right?

Yes, well aware... I'm looking for a range of average seen temps. I can't speak for the OP though. Something like 120-130 no load, 150-160 w/5000lbs in cold winter and 150-160 no load, 180-210 w/5500lbs, in hot summer. I'm assuming of course that people who have a gauge installed would actually use it and there by know their normal operating temp for given conditions.

Unloaded around town driving it gets to about 180F in stop and go traffic during the summer, winter time it gets to about 150 only after extended driving in stop and go conditions. The hottest its ever gotten was about 220-230F on a long grade pulling about a 5k trailer in July in the AZ desert. It seems to stay between 120-180 year round for the most part, after warm up.

This is on an 05 Screw 4x4, 3.73 gears and factory tow package, 4R75 tranny.

i dont do much towing but i like to go offroading and considering these trannys dont have the greatest reputation for longevity, i wanted to keep an eye on it, this is my first auto tranny so i have no clue what to expect, also these two gauges are my first gauge installs so im just trying to get a little reassurance that they are working properly, also since i have a lsd, i want to make sure im not burning it up in the mud,
thanks Screw-Me-05 then it should be working

so i guess around 120 in the canadian winter is not too bad, eventhough it doesnt get too cold around here

Where are you measuring the tranny temp? That makes a big difference.

Once warmed up, I drive between 155 & 165. It never goes over 165. Temp is from PCM via the Scan Gauge II.
