shift on the fly not working *fixed*
shift on the fly not working *fixed*
Was driving to work in the snow the other day in my '06 F150 Screw and shifted into 4WD due to snow...all worked fine. One week later, heavier snow fell and when I turned the dial to 4WD, nothing...no light, no click, no 4WD.
I have been having phantom speedo probs since I bought the truck 3 years ago...sometimes it stick up in the range (random as to where it sticks), then seems to only climb from there...reset the gauges via a sweep usually makes it work...anyway...
I thought this might be related to the computer controller on the back of the Fuse Box, therefore was looking into checking on it to see if it caused all my problems.
Read a little more about the shift on the fly, and saw some posts on the sticking of the engage motor on the TC. I gave it a gently smack with a 2X2 piece of wood, and viola
, I have fully function 4WD Hi, 4WD lo, and 2WD. All the lights work as they should. Apparently this motor can stick from lack of use in the summer...that doesn't really explain it working 1 week prior to it sticking, but whatever. I hope this helps someone, I am sure it has already been covered, here, but just a reminder...
