transmission identification
I have a 98 F150 4x4 ext cab, I was wondering how i find out what transmission my truck has?

I was going to point you to the transmission sticky thread, but it seems to have disappeared.

Get the trans code off the door sticker. "U" is 4R70W (most common), "E" is E4OD/4R100.

the owners manual says the dipstick with a plastic bulb is an e40D and the dipstick of the flat metal blade style is a 4R70W, is this correct?
