Tranny help
I'm pretty sure, but every FORD auto trans I've owned or driven does this when going into Reverse! This is from a 1971 F250, 1971 LTD, 1989 Bronco, 1989 E250 van, 1997 T-Bird, 1997 F150, various Ford rental cars from the late 80's and early 90's...
Also, any carburated Ford I've ever driven (manual or auto trans) , always had this 'gasping for air' feeling to it when you slowed down (like braking for a corner) and then gave it gas again... There was always this 'stall' and then you had to back off and then back on the gas again for it to 'catch' and then drive normally.... Once the multi port injectors came into play in the mid 80's, that didn't happen anymore, but that damn one second pause to go into reverse is still there!!
