Fram Trans Filters

I was planning on changing my trans fluid this weekend (to Mobil 1). The local auto parts store only stocked Fram trans filters for my 4R70W. Are these good filters to use in the transmission or not? I know the Fram oil filters have a bad rap...but anyone have input on their transmission filters? I looked at it and it isn't merely a screen, it looks like some type of cloth or felt-like substance as the filtering media, only firmer.

I would use it. There really isn't all that much to a Trans Filter but I am sure somebody will tell you they are crap as well.

I've never had any problems using them in any of my vehicles.

I wont make a comment on the Fram tranny filter as I've never even looked at one, much less used one...BUT, taking into consideration the quality, manufacturing, and reputation that goes into their oil filters...well, I'll let you figure out the rest

Well, that's kinda what I was thinking. Soooo, Motorcraft it is. Turns out with the discount I got across the street at the dealer, the Motorcraft was about $6 more than the Fram. Worth every penny for the extra peace of mind alone.

Here's to a great Memorial Day weekend...
