i own a 1993 with an E4OD. i had a crazy idea to take the overdrive switch off the end of my shifter and replace it with a skull shifter **** that lights up when you hit the button on the side (uses a watch battery) and make that button my over drive button.

is it possible to take that end of your shifter off?
and if it is, do you think this idea would ever work?
