wow thats expensive.... ive seen Stage 3 trannys online for less than that!

You might be able to reduce your costs by pulling the tranny out your self and giving it to the dealership or just get a brand new one.

Hell yes it is! Call around you could go to freakin AAMCO and get one for around $2500 and there a rip off. I paid about 17-18 hundred for the one in my E-350 van.

I checked into a Ford rebuilt from a local dealer about two years ago, and it was around $ 1,800. I'm sure it's gone up, but what's it worth to remove and replace? Maybe $ 600?

For that kinda dough, you can go to school and learn how to do it yourself. Around 2 grand max labor included ought to do it at a good tranny shop replacing alot of stuff. They might be selling you a new tranny which will cost alot of the time 3 grand plus the labor to round out 4200.

You might want to check with the parts deapartment on price. Some dealers mark up the list price on parts installed by the service department. I have had great sucess with Ford reman engines and transmissions. Quality stuff but you pay the price. You should be able to get a quality rebuild at a better price through a local shop.

I'm sorry... I know this isn't a GD area... but... I was lurking around... and I saw this... and I got to respond.

So anyways, without further delay:

BlueOvalFitter, I've been told to bend over while they shoved that "BLUEOVAL" rite up my butt... but they never did it sideways. Because damn... you gotta have an elephant butt or something to fit one of those up your butt sideways. I'd hate to take a dump and try to crap that thing out -- sideways!!! OUCH!

Yeah seriously... I don't know how those dealers pull off schemes like that.

But $4,200... you could buy yourself a slightly used F150 for that price at most used car lots.
