4R70W help, found this in the pan?

OK Droped the pan, found a yellow item in the pan, one end is about a 1" in diameter and a O ring, with a stem coming off about a 1" long

What and where should this go?

In the trash. It's the knockout plug for the dipstick tube.

It is just the plug that fills the hole where the dipstick goes. When the trans is installed at the assy line that plug is in the hole, then when they shove the dipstick tube in place, it knocks the plug into the pan. Just toss the plug in the trash. At least now you know that the pan has never been dropped before, if it was, that plug would be gone.

I never get tired of seeing this posted. It would be nice if the manufacturer could stamp something on that piece telling people it's OK to throw it out.

The majority of the time they will only drop the pan if you request a new filter. Otherwise they just hook up the flushing machine and do the fluid change that way.
