k so i put my truck in park this mornin went to get out and it rolled ahead, made a grinding noise and stopped...so i got back in turned the ignition on, pulled the shifter over to drive then back to park and it stayed put this time...now this happened to me 2 other times again today...its not engaging into park for some reason....is my tranny hooped or is this somthing simple?

 

Next time it does it put the emergency brake on and chalk the tires and crawl under and see if the linkage is binding up on you and not allowing the trans to fully engage in Park.

 

Make sure you pull it up all the way. Just a simple problem I've had before. I just didn't bring the lever up far enough to catch the park notch
