F250 yoke question Please help
O.K., the right answer saves me $90.00. I have a 96 F250 crew cab 4x2 8800lbs. GVWR. The rear is a full float Sterling 10.25 that's worn out. I just picked up an '87 F250 133 wheel base Sterling 10.25 full float to swap in. It's identical accept for the brake hose, wheel cyliders, and yoke. From what I understand, the '87 has a short pinion shaft and the 95 has a long. I'm having trouble finding a u-joint that fits my '96 driveshaft and '87 yoke. The '96 u-joint caps measure 1.190". the '87 measure 1 and 1/8 and 1.060. The 1 1/8 fit the '87 yoke. The bigger 1.190 fit the '96 and are way too big for the '87. My question is, which $90.00 yoke(Bronco Graveyard) do I need to correct this, or can I swap the long yoke in for the short. I was told you can only swap one way. Anybody have an answer for me?
