Transmission (standard)

I have a delimma with my 1997 F-150 XL extended cab with over 324,000k miles original owner, I had my clutch replaced, the boot shelve.

Before I had my clutch replaced, I had to refill the clutch fluid every seven days , which caused the clutch pedal to be depressed to the floor in order to shift the gears, and the fluid was leaking into the transmission, it was not dripping on my cement drive way.

I had my clutch, boot shelve, had the plate grind down some which was in excellent condition according to my mechanic.

My mechanic says my truck model can not bleed my clutch and that I must depress the clutch pedal numerous times just to engage the gear and when I do I must depress the clutch pedal all the way to the floor, because it has so much play in it.

There is plenty of clutch fluid in the reservor.

I would be greatly appreciated if someone can provide any suggestions on this issue.

Your mechanic doesn't know what he's talking about unless he broke off the bleeder screw. Find another mechanic who knows how. It's actually easy and straightforward.

and whats this "boot shelve" your talking about ive NEVER heard of anyhting remotly close to what that is

your machanic should have replaced the slave cylinder thats what was leaking and causing you to fill the fluid every few days and its is what needs to be bleed

i agree if your machanic says it cant be bleed get a new machanic or bleed it yourself it pretty easy
