Wtf ?

Hey everybody. My 06 FX4 went in the dealer for the defroster not clearing due to compressor not engaging. Anyhow I noticed a very damp oil spot on the bottom of my trans and asked them to check it out. They told me it has a bad seal and it's not covered because the edge made it premature wear out. The edge voided the warranty on the trans and they can prove it. So I was kinda in shock but have had time to think. Can they do this or should I fight them, or take it to a different dealer ? What could of caused the damp spot ? Any input ? ?

Most of the time when a dealer spots a modifed part they note in on the computer taking it out and going to another dealer would not work as its flaged as having aftermarket parts.

Best of luck

The edge was out and returned to stock. Apparently there's a code saying stock programming was altered. The tech showed me the code and he knew it was a programmer but he didn't know what brand. Be careful with these programmers because ford is catching on and can now apparently detect altered programming. They went and replaced the seal after I talked with the manager. However I don't know how much longer that will work as my truck has indeed been flagged plus the milage will only increase....

Try this

Return to stock

Unplug battery

Turn key on and leave sit for an hour

Should erase most things.

Or, you could always short out the computer and get a new on of those also.....J/K
