stiff 3rd gear

i bought an 04 F150 Hertiage 25000 miles on it, with a V6 and a 5 speed tranny. This is my second ford with this excat set up, My last truck gave me 250,000 miles of faithful service before it started to bight the dust. On my current truck, it feels like 3rd gear is stiff when going from second, clutch fully depressed, i can still feel the gears turning, all the other gears mesh fine. any ideas, fluid level fine has been doing it since bought. I drove 200,00 and replaced clutch once on last truck. Also i drive a Semi for coke for 5 days a week (Float gears).

The shift fork is worn out or defective. The pin holding the fork could be bent and the fork never goes quite far enough to fully engage the syncro. Rev the engine to 2500 rpm and try shifting from 1st to R and back a few times. Any grinding is sign of a clutch that is not fully disengaging. I know that if it is going to grind because of a clutch it usually does in all the gears but you have to eliminate the clutch. Have you tried a fluid change?

Did the test, 1st to Reverse. Clutch is ok, starts to engage about 1/2 to 3/4 way up, but no grinding. If it is the shift fork what would cause it to only malfunction going into 3rd gear? when i down shift through the gears it doesn't do it. i am going to try to take it by the ford house this week if i can get off work in time. Thanks
