Braking and coasting
Yesterday my 2004 F150 XLT Supercrew with a 4.6L acted funky. I was slowing down in a school zone to 20 mph limit and then I released the brake to coast through the school zone and my truck started to feel like it wanted to die out ans saw the rpms fluctuationg. I heard it clanking like metal to metal sound. At first I though bad gas but it accelerated fine. I change the fuel filter avery 12,000 miles and the oil every 3000 miles. So I do not think it is my engine. I have only drove my truck 82,000 miles and all are pretty much highway miles. Could it be my transmission going out or some sensor on the tranny not working well? I last changed my transmission fluid at about 40 or 50,000 miles.
I do not get a check engine light yet. So I do not know if it is the tranny. Any answers? I just do not want to go take it in
