Tranny/engine bolt up question

Tranny/engine bolt up question

I was wondering, i have been talking to this guy about a 351w, and was wondering if it would bolt up to my mazda/toyo 5spd transmission, i know this is the rare tranny that was not used alot

The Mazda M5OD-R2 used in Broncos and F-150s with a 300, 302, or 4.2L share the bolt pattern with a 351w. How long it would last with a built 351 depends on how much you abuse it. The 4.6L pattern M5OD-R2 will not bolt up however.

well i have a 5.0 in mine, and i had to replace the tranny not too long ago after i bought from this guy, and when i went looking around everywhere i went and asked they said that i would have a hard time trying to find the mazda trans because it was rare, and the zf is the only one i could find in any junk yards, not to mention i talked to a guy in arizona that specialized in remaning ford trannies, he told me the same thing

I'd say just from looking at a lot of pre 97 trucks about a quarter of em are sticks.
