What kind of trans do you have? What kind of fluid does it require?

There are a few synthetic trans fluid out there that are pretty good. Mobil 1 makes one and so do Royal Purple and Amsoil. I would go with either of the latter fluids. I'm not a fan of Mobil 1 anymore.

What does your owners manual say is the recommended fluid type?

Owners manual will say Mercon V - if the synthetic you choose is Mercon V-compatible, you are good to go.

Mercon or Mercon V? There is a very important difference in the two.
