Hey everyone. I have an 05 F150 with 4.6l, auto trans and coming up on 30,000 mi. The manual says the trans fluid should be changed. I called my Ford dealer and the service guy said this tranny only needs flushed because there is no filter on these new trannys. Huh. Doesn't make sense to me. Is this true? THANKS for the help!!

 

BS - he's only trying to sell you a machine flush job. There's no drain plug on the pan or converter though - you either do a pan drop and change the filter and replace about 1/3 the fluid or you do a machine flush to replace all the fluid.
