Overdrive "Off" Light Flashing

After driving the truck for a long time, my Overdrive Off light will flash on and off. Ideas on what this is?

That's the equivalent of the "check transmission" light. Means that the PCM detected a problem in the transmission.

That's something you'll want to look into fairly soon. If a problem is severe enough for the PCM to pick it up it deserves rapid attention. I don't think average scanners will pick up those codes, you need a special Ford scanner at a dealer.

Not a whole lot you can do but bring it in. Do you notice any problems? Hard/rough shifting, shifting too early/late, stalling, gears grabbing slowly?

No, you don't need a special Ford scanner.

you do need an OBD-II scan tool that supports "manufacturer-specific codes". The cheaper ones lack this feature.

If you want to know it all:
Click on Search then choose Advanced Search.
In the first box type 'Flashing'
Then choose 'Titles Only'
Then choose Transmissions in the Forum block.

Leave everything else default.

There are 42 extensive threads about the 'Flashing' OD light.
