1999 F150 Transmission Problem

Greetings Everyone!

I'm new around here so I'm not sure if an answer to this problem or something of the like is already posted. I apologize in advance.

I have a '99 F-150, 4.6L, 2wd ext. cab Lariat automatic. It has approximately 140K mi and recently I've had the transmission act up on me. When I take off on o-drive it revs up:

1st gear: ok
2nd gear: ok

3rd gear: Once this gear engages (or lacks to engage I don’t know) the trucks bogs down almost as if I pressing the breaks – if I shift it into neutral it enables to free up and actually go faster..

I put in 2nd gear and can drive – no problem. Tranny fluid is shooting out the dipstick too. Is this a common problem? Has anyone else experienced this before? How much will it cost approximately to fix??

Thanks EV1,

JLaudioF150

Sorry I missed yer post.

When does it come out of the dipstick? Have you filled or changed the fluid?
