I have an 02 supercrew 5.4L 4x4 4r70w (bought used) and want to tow a 30 foot travel trailer rated at 5000 ibs dry weight. There appears to be a transmission cooler mounted in front of the passenger side of the radiator. I am not sure if the truck has the factory tow package and would like to know if I should add another trans cooler.

Does the factory tow package have a trans cooler with a fan?

 

No. The factory towing package included the super cooling package, heavy duty electrical (higher current alternator), larger battery, trailer hitch, and auxiliary transmission cooler.

Which rear axle do you have, and what size wheels? It makes a difference in your trailer tow rating.
