Overdrive button popping fuse

A few days ago, I noticed my Overdrive button on the steering columns stopped working. today I changed the fuse and it worked for about 2-3 minutes and popped the fuse again. Anyone have this happen before?

you need a new selector assembly, the wire is chafed and and is shorting to ground causeing the fuse to pop. You might be able to to fix it. pull the covers off the column and look for the wire coming out of the gear selector. repair it, then try to re route it.
