My directions are too complicated to email. I may add them to my website eventually.

That is the kind of shifts i want
The last thing i heard on the FTVB was that the quality was not as good as it used to be and there was the possibility of the tranny going.
Has anyone heard anything about this or have an update??
I guess i could call Troyer if nobody knows.

Last I heard he was doing plate kits instead of valvebody kits on my recomendation. Honestly I haven't really talked to Gregg in quite a while.

Sorry for jumping in late, but this is a mod that I want to do. I read in this thread that people are leaving the 1-2, but changing the 3-4.

I'm reading that those of you who want some utility, i.e. towing, think the abrupt jump from 1-2 is uncalled for. Or even everyday driving.

But the 3-4 is desireable for what reason?

I think the trans slips way too much, but I do tow a BOBCAT & STEEL TRAILER from time to time. That combo weighs more than my truck, but I dont like how the trans drags out the accelleration. It builds up a lot of heat IMHO.

What part of this kit would I want?

Thanks,So he is using a plate now instead of replacing the whole valvebody?
So what is the dif between the plate kits and the valvebody kits?

Well the major difference in the car and truck valvebodies is the seperator plate. The truck valvebody leaves little room for adjusting without becoming abusive. The car plate can handle some adjustment. Things still change and it seems in the really late years they have done things to the valvebody that make the changes almost worthless. I had car style plates reproduced and them modified them to make the plate kits. Gregg did the same thing, sort of. The plate is alot less expensive and there is considerably less worry about a valve problem that can be found with a replacement valvebody. If your valvebody worked before it will work after. The plate can be reversed and I have written directions that allow for different levels of change depending on application. Greggs instructions are vague to say the least.
