Shutter when downshifting from OD
Low-grade misfires most often occur when in overdrive while at lower RPMs under higher load. For example, go up hill in OD and let the engine lug down without downshifting. This condition places the greatest load on the secondary ignition system and most often induces the low-grade misfire.
If the shudder occurs AFTER the downshift, then it's far more probable that you are experiencing torque converter shudder. Follow Mark's advice from several years ago (above) with a fresh fluid exchange.

It feals like ran over those stripes on the side of the highway that make a big vibration and noise. It almost feels like when you upshift in a standard trans into a gear thats to high and the engine cant keep up. But it only happens when the trans shifts from od. I cant figure it out.

Guys, I just went through all of this with my 06. The good news-it is now solved. The bad news-its your torque converter.
These trannys do have hydraulic issues, which can screw up the clutches in the TC. Find a shop that can diagnose tranny issues with a scanner.

Hey Guys, i was just experiencing this same shutter as well, for about a couple weeks, but then yesturday it went to downshift and it missed third. It completely blew 3rd and 4th gear and left me with only 1st and 2nd. As soon as it tried to go into 3rd, it just rev up to 5000 rpm.
I had the same "shudering problem". I thought it was the tranny from towing my heavy toy hauler. I serviced the trans, still shuddering. Next I figured it was misfire, changed the plugs, viola-fixed the problem. Probably the cheapest place to start. If you plugs are bad but coils are good, you won't get an engine code.
