I have an '04 FX4 5.4L.
Yesterday, during accelerated from a stop light my truck did not shift into 2nd gear and the RPMs went high. After pulling over, the "TRANS FAULT" message appeared in my readout. At that point I noticed reverse was not working as well. From park, I could start driving but not shift out of first with the overdrive on. When I turn overdrive off I can drive and the truck will shift through the gears. It will still not go into reverse though.

Someone mentioned to me that it might be the solenoid that controls overdrive and reverse. Could that possible be the issue? I'm not sure if the two are tied to the same solenoid.

I don't want to jump to conclusion, but I do have an EDGE that has been installed for a couple of months. I was running it at the level 3 with the tire size altered. I believe that the gear ratio on it was set to 3.73. I reset it back to stock when this happened.

I read the diagnostics with the edge and the error is P0732 - Gear 2 Incorrect Gear Ratio.

I thought about posting in the chip/programmer forum, but thought that it would be best to put it here since it may not be related.

Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
