Unhappy Clutch Repair Have any affects on Steering

I have a 2003 6 cyc F150. A couple of weeks ago, with 97500 miles, my clutch went out and had to be repaired by replacing all the major parts at a local repair shop. A few days after the repair, now I'm noticing that the steering when turning seems to have more play...just a little different feel when turning with the steering wheel. Question: When a clutch is being repaired or replaced, is the steering fluid removed and replaced? I was wondering if the wrong type of steering fluid was replaced causing the steering on turns to have more play. I can drive the truck around okay, it's just I'm noticing the steering seems alittle different on turns. Is this an easy process to replaced the fluid? Thanks for any information.

The steering should not have been had to be touched to replace a clutch.
