Trans mod advice needed.

I'm a first time Ford owner and was wondering if I need to upgrade anything on the trans for towing. I have a 2004 F150 FX4 Supercab with 8000 miles, 5.4 V8, 3.73LS axle, 4R75E trans with tow package. I will pulling a 8 X 16 foot tandom axle, enclosed box trailer weighing about 6500 pounds on trips 200 miles and less maybe 6 times a year.
Can I just hook and go with no worries or should I be looking into things like: trans temp guage, larger capacity finned oil pan, bigger trans cooler etc.?

Reason I am worried is that my last truck was a 91 GMC and I had a lot of expensive trans problems with that p.o.s. and I don't want any trouble with the Ford.
Thanks for any advice!

Well I don't tow alot but from things I read on here the bigger trans cooler is one of the first mods people do, along with the finned deeper pan and gauge, use that search button and you can find an overwhelming amount of info on this, sorry I can't help you more but someone will be around here soon that knows more than me

You have a good transmission there. Some shift mofidifcations, a cooler and at the very worst a better converter will make it outlast the engine. I am near cincinnati if you want to see all the details on one stop by.

I don't think you'll have any problems if you drive like you're supposed to. Since your truck has the towing package, it already has an aux tranny cooler.
