Transmisison shifting or engine stalling

I recently purchased a 2007 F-150 supercrew with a 5.4L engine. I love the truck, but i dont know if it has a shifting problem, or if the engine is stalling, or it it's perfectly normal.
When I begin to slowly accelerate from a stop, the engine rpm climbs to about 2000. It then drops 100 to 200 rpms. As I continue to accelerate it does this two more times before making an obvious shift into overdrive.
I believe this is just normal shifting, but it really feels like the engine is stalling. It is compleely different than the shifting on my 2000 f-150. Those of you who have newer f-150's should be able to tell me if this is a normal thing, or if I should have this checked out.

Your 2000 did the same thing, it just wasn't as pronounced as it is on the newer trucks. Completely normal though. It briefly reduces the power output of the engine during the shift to smooth out the shift as well as reduce the strain on the transmission.

Mine does the same thing,

Feels like a stumble or hesitation. I just came from a manual F150 so I dont have anything to compare it to.

Feels odd.
