Gears

Just bought a 98 f-150 with 17,000 original miles off of an elderly man, wanting to put 4inch lift with 35's on it. Its got a 4.6L motor, auto., 4x4 in it. Just wanting to know if i am going to have to change out the gears in it, to turn the bigger tires and help save on transmission problems? thanks
