You can if you don't want the truck to be so much of a slowpoke off the line. How big of tires would you ever go? Do you tow? How much highway driving?

i would be driving on the highway quite a bit because in the summer i am going to be commuting from Lawrencville GA to Buckhead (down near atlanta) which is about a 30 min drive on the highway. also i will be towing a lot, my dad builds houses in the Buckhead area and i am gonna be towing away excess supplies, etc. so i will be towing quite a bit.

Hmm I'm kind of intrested in this myself, because I have 3.55 LS in mine currently and the local lift shop said I really don't need to upgrade....?

you don't HAVE to swap, but you will like the results after you do. if you figure the percentage difference on your tire sizes from stock to your 35's, you will know what gear you need to get back to near stock performance, not factoring in the heavier tires and wheels.

i would switch to 4.56 or 4.88 for alittle more low end grunt, it will put your RPM back in the correct range for the tranny making your tranny last longer getting back lost performance and pulling power, in my opinion it is a must for tires 35" and over
