C6 Limits?

Ive been thinking of doing some horsepower/torque tweaks on my 6 cyl. But I'm worried about the transmission. What can the C6 handle? What is it rated at, and what are its limits? If nessecary, are there any easy, not too expensive shift packs or what ever it would be that I need to do to improve the transmission?

Thanks,
-Mike

Considering that the C6 was built to handle engines like the 427 and 429, I don't think it will have any trouble with anything you can do to the 6.

I just sold my 72 F250 that had a 460 with a C6 tranny.

The 300 six, while a great motor, can not hurt the C6. You'll probably blow u joints and twist an axle or drive shaft before you hurt the tranny.

B&M makes good parts for the C6. I've used them for years. Just in case you do want to beef it up a bit, here ya go.

A stock C6 is fine for your built 6. A built C6 would be practically bulletproof.

With a big stacked plate cooler, and some fresh fluid, you can't really hurt the C6 as long as the shifts are frim and crisp.

I'm not sure the C6 has limits, Considering they were put into dump trucks the weight of a car or light truck just isn't going to phase them. My dad worked at Sharonville for 44 years he said the C6 about put them out of business because they couldn't sell any parts, the C5 about put them out because they all broke the reverse band. The E4OD saved them, they barely made it out of warranty and sold many many parts.
