my tranny is slippin and i need to swap it out but i dont know what model to buy and cant find the info anywhere any help appreciated. also will a 4.6 tranny bolt up to a 5.4?

 

Did you try a flush and fill? I hear some came through Ford without synthetic fluid, causing this problem. My '00 F150 started hard shifting into overdrive. Had a machine flush done, new Mercon5 fluid, and it's good as new. May be worth a try, unless it slips so bad the bands got heated. Then your screwed.

 

The transmission is NOT specific to the engine.

Read your TRAN code on the door label and then look up your tranny model in the sticky at the top of this forum.
