You should be able to go MUCH faster than 65kph without overdrive. How many shifts does it make? I'm betting it just makes one shift, then it will go to nuetral when it tries to do the second shift. Am I right?

If so, it's the direct clutch that is gone. That means you won't have third or fourth gears. If it were just the overdrive band you should still be able to go almost 160 kph.

Either one. They both get you to the same place, a functioning trans.
