Question about Torque Converter?

Hello, i asked this b4 on the engine section, but never got answered, so i would like it to give it another try on this section.

i have a 99 expy with 73000 miles, it shifts great and everything, but my question is, when i go in second, it feels like the truck makes another shift before it shifts to third, is it the torque converter??? basically it feels like if the expy had a five speed automatic transmission.

That in between shift you feel is the torque converter going into lockup. It's normal. Don't worry bout it .

If it didn't do that you'd have a problem.
