I've put a 302 roller w/aod from 85 mercury grand marquis in a 70 f100 swb. Trying to keep the column shift. Need suggestion on shift linkage.

 

If the truck had an AOD before, you could use its linkage in the new trans. Otherwise, they can be flipped over to allow for use of a different linkage. You have to drop the pan, loosen the nut on the shaft, and turn it 180*. When I replaced my AOD, I had to use my old linkage lever. Also, be SURE to set the TV cable adjustment with a pressure gauge.
