slight shove when down shifting

i have a 2002 F150 with 118,00 miles on it and an automatic transmission. when i'm slowing down, it feels like i'm getting a slight shove in the back, i'm assuming when it's downshifting. i don't know if this is a transmission problem or not, has anyone else had a problem like this or know what the problem is? thanks...
